Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 16, 2026

OhmBase ("the app") is a field tools application for electricians. This policy explains how we handle your information. The short version: we don't collect it.

Data storage

All data you enter into OhmBase — including jobs, hours, profile information, certifications, calculator results, wage rates, and settings — is stored locally on your device using your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share it.

No accounts

OhmBase does not require or support user accounts. There is no sign-up, no login, and no authentication. You are never asked to provide an email address, password, or any personal identifier to use the app.

No data collection

We do not collect, transmit, store, or process any personal data. Specifically:

We do not use analytics or tracking tools. We do not use cookies for tracking purposes. We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data. We do not collect usage statistics. We do not serve advertisements. We do not share any data with third parties.

Wage rate submissions

OhmBase includes an optional feature that lets you submit IBEW local wage data to help build a national wage database. If you choose to use this feature, it opens your device's email client with a pre-formatted message. You control whether to send it. The email is sent directly from your email account to our inbox — OhmBase does not intercept, store, or process this email. Your email address becomes visible to us only if you choose to send the message. We use submitted wage data solely to improve the app's built-in rate database. We do not publish submitter names or email addresses.

Backup and restore

OhmBase allows you to export your data as a JSON backup file and restore from a previous backup. These files are created and stored on your device. We never have access to your backup files unless you voluntarily share them with us.

Offline operation

OhmBase is designed to work entirely offline after initial installation. The app uses a service worker to cache itself for offline use. No network connection is required for any core functionality.

Third-party services

OhmBase loads one external library (jsPDF) from a public CDN (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) for PDF export functionality. This is the only external network request the app makes. We do not control cdnjs.cloudflare.com's privacy practices; their privacy policy is available on their website.

Children's privacy

OhmBase is designed for professional electricians and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Since we don't collect email addresses or user accounts, we cannot notify you directly of changes — please review this page periodically.
