About & legal
OhmBase is a reference & estimating tool, not engineering advice. Tables are based on
NEC 2023 — always verify against the code edition
adopted by your AHJ. You are responsible for the accuracy of your work.

OhmBase counts anonymous usage (which tools get opened, how often) via GoatCounter to decide
what to build next — no accounts, no personal identifiers, and your data never leaves the phone.
Data corrections
⚠ Motor & NEC table corrections
Errors were found in NEC data used by earlier versions and corrected against the 2023 NEC:
• Single-phase motor FLA (115 V / 230 V) was understated in
v4.2.5 and earlier — a 1/2 HP 115 V motor read 4.4 A instead of 9.8 A (Table 430.248).
• Motor minimum wire size was oversized by 2–4 sizes (Table 310.16, 75 °C).
• Conduit and wire fill areas (Ch. 9 Tables 4 & 5) had incorrect IMC, rigid
and PVC values.
Please re-check any motor circuits or conduit fills sized with an earlier version of OhmBase.
The understated motor FLA is the safety-relevant one — undersized conductors or overcurrent
protection. Three-phase motor data was not affected.
